LIFE OVERSEAS: Paris, France (Week 1)

This week seems like it's been moving like quicksand. I literally thought I had seen the entire city of Paris over the last few days, but I had barely scratched the surface...........
We visited one of the many museums, and I learned that Birdman got his iconic "hand rub" from the Parisians.

Walking around we found that there was a massive thrift store over by the Marais. There was a first floor and a ground floor. I was so excited, I think a tear may have came down my face.

Found a little treasure around the corner from where I live. This bakery has the best sandwiches and sweets, so I can never go wrong.

Visiting the Louvre was a really cool experience. I saw so many historical paintings buy artists such as Vincent van Gogh and Davinci. All of this information thrown at us was overwhelming to take in, so I will definitely have to make a trip back there sooner or later.

A button on my blazer popped off before we were going out, but luckily I have friends that are design students. Kat to the rescue...

At the top of Montmartre, this lady was getting jiggy on the 1's and 2's haha! The free show was amazing, but it soon started raining, so hit was time to go.

A morning walk to the open air market by the Lexembourg Gardens was relaxing. Fresh fruit, vegetables, and everything else you can think of.... and cheese.

I've found my favorite scarf you guys! Papa Marley, rest in power lol.
---------------------
Most of the places I've visited in France won't let me take pictures of the inside such as the haute couture museums and certain exhibits. Things in Paris are so exclusive, and that's bittersweet. Hopefully this upcoming week I will have more pictures for you guys!

LIFE OVERSEAS: Arrival in Paris, France

I did better than I expected on the plane ride to Paris. I don't remember what it felt like to be on a plane, because I the last time I boarded one was when I was super young. On the drive to the airport I was intimidated by the planes taking off and honestly contemplated on turning around, but that wasn't an option lol. Needless to say, I got on the plane, and was soon off to Paris, France.

I arrived at my apartment and it was pretty ill with a great view.

Went for a drink, and saw a flyer.
Apparently they say "turn up" here lol..

The next day we woke up only to have a full schedule ahead of us. We went around the city on a bus ride, and pretty much went through all of the districts of Paris including the flee market and the Pierre Cardin Museum, which was inspiring.

Walking.... oh, hey Eiffel!

Living here for this time period is going to be nothing short of amazing....

Fresh Video: Ro Spit feat. Front Paije "Fresh Boy"

Spit dropped a new video to accompany his new song Fresh Boy. Throughout the video, you'll understand why he is indeed pretty fresh. You find a lot of people talking about how fresh they are, but usually they are just that... all talk. Ro on the other hand, doesn't only talk about it, but he is about it. Being the co-owner of two boutiques, there is no reason you shouldn't stay stay pretty fly. Check it...
Also check out his new "Spit" new era caps, available now at Burn Rubber Detroit

The FADED Penguin "Luxury Art" Snakeskin Strapbacks

The FADED Penguin is dropping a new set of strap backs. The hats come in two different colorways (black and blue) and have some similarities such as the "Luxury Art" wording plastered on from and the Artie (the mascot) embroidered on the left side. The difference is that the black strapback has a snakeskin brim and strap, whereas the blue hat has a green underbrim and the only snakeskin portion is on the strap.
The caps will be released on May 17 (this Friday) at noon on http://www.fadedpenguin.bigcartel.com and will go pretty quick.

Fresh Project: Gueringer the 13th "Paris Japan" (Prod: TDeezy)

Paris, Japan from Gueringer the 13th (formerly known as J.G.) came out a while ago, and I'm just now posting it. Sorry... I'm not sorry. Any who, on to the post..........
PARIS JAPAN IS HEREEEE lol.
Some may think of the name change as random, but it definitely came at the right time. At a point of growth and change, it was all synchro. On FG Radio, he explains exactly why and how the name change came about, and the real meaning of it.
I had a great opportunity to attend his release party at the Flei Yung showroom, and I was very impressed. I wasn't expecting him to come with anything like this, so it kind of hit me from left field. the entire thing was produced by the gawd TDeezy, and that's one reason I think it turned out great. He embodied a great feeling of what it may feel like to live in Paris, Japan if there was a such place...much love.
My favorite song is A Thousand Prayers, but others that caught my attention were Paris Flow, and This is it. I also have to admit the 1:48-2:20 when Gueringer and the homie Nolan were talking mad sh*t I got OD hyped up because it reminded me of Tupac on Hit Em' Up. Overall, Gueringer the 13th did a great job with this project.
Let's take a trip to Paris, Japan....

Fresh Music: Dessy Hinds "P. Enlightenment"

On Pro Era's latest project, Peep: The aPROcalypse, Dessy was on Vinyls and Natural, but since then we haven't heard anything from him until now. I wish I could pick out a dope line from this joint, but it seems that Pro Era's "Ill Minded Child" (Ill MC) Dessy Hinds has made it hard for me to do so, because everything stated in P.Enlightenment stuck out to me... line after line. Every word seemed intricately and consciously placed, which made the song flow really well. I think it's safe to say this is my favorite song released from Dessy. P.Enlightenment is a smooth track with a wide range of vocabulary, so you'll need to listen through it a few times to catch what's actually being said, and possibly look up a few words while doing so lol. It seems like he really took his time with this one, and everyone should hear what he's saying.. be enlightened. Check it!!!
This is a video released from Dessy back in 2012 titled "The Job" (Prod: Hans Solo)

SPIT Detroit Web Series: Episodes 2 & 3

This post is going to have both episode 2 and 3 of Spit Detroit included in it, so i'll try to make it short and sweet......

Episode 2 includes Gino The Ghost, Presidentae, and B. Lewie. First off, I want to say this was a fun cypher to listen to, because they really were coming right off the top of the dome. Beats the trio rhymed over were D.O.A, Unorthodox (LOVE!!!!), and S.T.U. My favorite line was from Presidentae"....time equals money, you can figure that, seeing me throwing cash on the floor.. look like I littered that".........."up in the hotel, and giving that i'm gone nail, they called security once, now she promising she won't yell". Check it...

In episode 3 we have Midwest Rico, Casada Jones, and D. Rose. First rapping over Symphony 2000, then XXplosive, and lastly Rigamortus. On this Episode, a line that stuck out to me was from D. Rose when wrapping up the Rigamortus beat - "y'all blind, but they ain't foolin' me, a hard knock life, wasn't schoolin' me, the government gone have to put a tool to me, because I'm from the D.. we break rules to eat!". Much love to DJ Bleek and Row.....SPIT!!!!!

Fresh Music: Nolan The Ninja "Total Wreck"

YUPPPPPPPPP, Nolan is back at it with yet another track, and this go round he decided to rhyme over Bahamadia's Total Wreck. Total Wreck is a 90's track, so I can't say I'm surprised Nolan would choose this beat as his lyrical playground. One of the things he said that stuck out to me was "mental therapy for the noggin, session of mind clearing, escaping from all the problems". Everyone has their own way of breaking away from reality. Personally, my way is meditation, but for Nolan it's probably hitting the studio. All of these dope tracks being released by The Ninja makes me want an EP.... *cough cough*
Here is the original version of Total Wreck from Bahamadia

Fresh Music: Yeroc Obama "Live For"

Never heard of Yeroc Obama until a few days ago, when I received an email with a smooth track attached titled Live For. The inspiration for this track was Reasonable Doubt from the gawd Jay-Z. Though that album will NEVER be duplicated, I can say I do catch a vibe of a modern day song that could be on Reasonable Doubt. After taking a listen to Live For, you will get the drift that him and his homies have an expensive taste and live an extravagant lifestyle. Yeroc is supposed to be dropping a mixtape soon, and I can say I am interested in what it will sound like. Check it...

Fresh Project: Grindtime 4 A Reason "Grind, Sweat, and Tears 2"

Grindtime 4 A Reason dropped Grind, Sweat, and Tears 2 about a week ago, which is a sequel to the original Grind, Sweat, and Tears. Throughout the tape he used some familiar beats like Juicy J's Bands a Make Her Dance and Rihanna's Pour it up, along with a few more that you should catch on to.
Songs that stuck out to me were How You Liking Me Now and Grind Season. How You Liking Me Now had me bombing my head.. TOUGH haha. I feel that I also should mention in that song he said "You can't be a winning circle in a ring full of pretenders", which is the absolute truth. You can check how I feel about Grind Season here.
A featuring verse I feel the need to shed some light on was Fly Gang Mike's, simply because he shouted out Burn Rubber -- "I ain't rocking track suits and shell toes, you'll probably catch me in the Burn Rubber Ivo's"
I see the homie Raw MC Lex produced a track on here, shoutout to him!
After listening through the whole tape, I can hear the growth from his last project to this project. Check it...
