Accomplice

Young Detroit artist Accomplice sent me this freestyle he did over Dj Khaled's "I'm On One" track. For him to be so young I'm actually feeling his flow. A line that stuck out to me was when he said "See I just need you to believe in my message, listen to my voice, you can hear greatness embedded, it's crazy because I'm still going through my adolescence, when I look back at my life I can see all my progression". A little belief can go a long way! I am not a fan of comparing myself to other people, I tend to set my own goals and as long as I can look back and see that I have achieved those I can feel good about myself.  I'm looking forward to seeing him grow as an artist!

Price & Sir Gabe Show

Price and the Dot Boyz had a dope set on Feb 9th at The Central Bar at Bathurst and Bloor. Looks like they had a pretty fun time and looks like I should have been in attendance. Too bad I'm a Michigander... someone take me to Canada!

Teddy Franchize

About 2 weeks ago the homie from Canada, Teddy Franchize, released his freestyle to Rick Ross's "Stay Schemin". When I woke up this morning I knew I would have a bomb Friday and when I received this it indeed did get better. I have come to a conclusion that I love the Canadian accent and I want it.
Dopes line.."focused on my riches, my eye on the bigger picture, n*ggas actin' like b*tches, and b*tches actin' like n*ggas, I been peeping the difference a lot of n*ggas is switchin', no time for complaining I'm tryna complete my mission"  whewwwwwwwwww!

Conchourds

I know we've all been waiting for Nolan The Ninja to drop Ninjatown for quite some time now.. but here is something to hold us over with a new release called "Conchourds"
What Nolan has to say about the wait for Ninjatown:
"I have countless rhymes, numerous joints & most importantly, an infinite mind. When you're dealing with those sort of things, making decisions on what to display as a final piece could be challenging whether you're dealing with music or anything else. Ultimately, I just truly seek for great results in everything that I do. And in order to achieve greatness, it takes patience. With that said, I appreciate all of the support from those interested in my craft & I promise that you won't be disappointed with the outcome of the project."

Lightwork

Artist: Price
Hometown: Toronto, Canada
Just over the last few weeks I've been getting more and more emails from artists in Canada so shoutouts to y'all! This artist goes by the name of Price and his work is pretty dope I must say. Recently I was able to listen to his EP "Light Work"! Most of his songs are upbeat which I like because it raises my spirits. I would have no problem putting this on repeat for the entire day.  I've always wanted to go to Canada, but this literally makes me want to just take a trip to Canada on some spur of the moment s#it...if he has any shows I really may have to. Being able to just vibe out to songs is my specialty.. and I found myself in my own little world.
I'm loving the whole production..
I rock with every single song on this EP..It's entirely too hard for me to pick one song I like! Tweet me your favorite song @courttdenise! He had so many lines that caught my attention but when he said
"Got one life can't live it 2nd guessing" that made me jump out of my shoes because that is something I am working on. When I get older and look back and reflect on my life I don't want to say "I wish I would've" or "why didn't I"...

Crack Killz

Funny story.. A few months ago while I was home my family was having a chill session at my house talking about different artists. My cousin Alex from over at F.A.D.E.D mentioned a artist named "Crack Killz" and showed me one of his videos. Earlier this week I ended up getting and email from his crew. He is definitely an artist you should not sleep on! I need more music from him..

II Kings

Artist: Ivy League Crew - IIKings (CrackKillz x Zamar aka Motorcity Maz)
Hometown: Detroit, Mi
CrackKillz and Zamar have come together to create a group they call "IIKings. I really like the majority of this album! I dig the Egyptian inspired artwork! So far I like what I'm hearing from these two artists..
Songs that stood out to me were I'm a Kiing, Labor Law, Clicker, Pharaoh, Renaissance, and Empire. The song I like the most is "Renaissance" simply because of the message! Stand for nothing, fall for anything.. as simple as that. Today I woke up in a positive mood and this song just put a cherry on top of the day. Having a positive mindset that you can conquer anything is vital to happiness and success!

Josh Vietti

This past Friday Josh Vietti visited Central Michigan University and opened up for comedian Brandon T Jackson. It was his first time in Michigan and I hope we made a good impression on him and he comes back VERY soon. Josh has an amazing talent of creating any song on the violin. Listening to the tunes he played made me wish I wouldn't have stopped playing. I wish I could've received one of his free CD's but unfortunately I wasn't able to :-/. Everything he played was amazing! He honestly had me all in my emotions lol. Check out his videos..

GOMORRAH

J.G is back at it with his new album titled "GOMORRAH". For those who don't know, to make a long story short GOMORRAH refers to the ancient town located near the Dead Sea which was destroyed by God because of corruption by its inhabitants. Good title? I think so...
I like the way the beginning of the album started. It actually felt a little bit mysterious to me which made me want to listen to more! By the end of the album I took a trip to GOMORRAH and back.
Songs that caught my attention were Revelations, Let My Name Rang, Eraepsekahs, Grindin' Work, and Dangerous Ambitionz (shoutouts to ZelooperZ). It's too difficult to pick which track I like better but it's a tie between "Let My Name Rang" or "Dangerous Ambitionz". Let My Name Rang is that it made my head bob which is a good thing. When Dangerous Ambitionz started playing it gave me the urge to do this dance..
and when I heard Ze come in on the track I began to act like a COON lol! I think that was the perfect feature..
My favorite line is still from Grindin Work when he said "We don't break like these Kit-Kats, I sell dope, these dope raps, I taste like cocaine, they addicted to my name, with lames we don't hang, a million bucks is a low aim".
This entire album was produced by TDeezy..magnif!
Atlas .. it's here #GOMORRAH

I'm Only Mook

The other day 4StarZ member Mook released his first project titled "I'm Only Mook". Yesterday was his birthday as well.. so it wouldn't hurt to send some happy belated birthday tweets (@imonlymook).
Last month I had the opportunity to meet the whole 4Starz group at Dice's get together. While I was there Mook asked me to review his mixtape that he had coming out in February so with no hesitation I told him I would check it out. I really didn't know what type of music to expect but I was hoping it would be something good because if it wasn't I'd have to be honest and let him know lol.
The first time I was able to sit down and have a chill conversation with Mook and the crew was this past Saturday. I was expecting him to be one of those artists who front like they hard but they really not. In actuality Mook is funny, humble and has an great personality! Like I said before, I support the whole 4StarZ movement.. #LOVE.
The songs that I like are Defining Moment, Winnin' (shoutouts to Ro Spit), Feb 4th, Changes, Do The Right Thing, Better As Friends, and Moment Of Silence.
Out of all those my favorite would have to be Feb 4th hands down. The fact that he put his parents on it was special as well as unique and I think that's why I love it so much, so shoutouts to them! Mook took it all the way back to the day he was born with this track. For my faithful readers you know I love when people talk about growing up and what they been through. To be honest if I could listen to everybody's life story I would..
My favorite line is from "Changes" when he said "You can't blame others for the pain that you feeling, you can't blame others for the things that you did, you was only you, you got to pick how you live". I'm a strong believer that nobody can force you to do anything you don't want to do. Therefore if you do it then you wanted to in the first place. You can control your destiny.
To my surprise the "Defining Moment" track I was sent last week that I did a post on was actually just a snippet of the song. When they told me that I was surprised because by that time I listened to the song a good 20-30 times. I'm sure that pretty soon this "B*tch I'm So Michigan" slogan is going to go viral lol. So, if you like it.. make sure you listen the entire thing!
Overall Mook exceeded my expectations with this project! Keep the hits coming..
The entire project was produced by the beast Ace Boogie.
