Fresh Music: Joey Bada$$ "Unorthodox" (Prod. Dj Premier)

Last week I posted the video of Joey Bada$$ cooking up Unorthodox with DJ Premier in From The Block to The Top. Unorthodox is here and is everything I expected from the duo. The album artwork is sick as well. The subway bus has the Pro Era emblem, RIP STEEZ, and the term Beast Coast. With Pro Era member Capital STEEZ passing away last month just after Peep: The aPROcalypse dropped, I think it's dope how they incorporated RIP Steez in the center portion of the artwork. One love. Check it....

Fresh Music: J.Fin feat. Aye Peez "Chief Llama"

High Royalty member J.Fin teams up with Aye Peez from The Umbrella to spit over Chief Keef's Love Sosa instrumental, naming this one Chief Llama. Foolay tracks from Fin are never a surprise, we love them this way. Check it.....
Be on the lookout for J.Fin's album Hype Means Nothing to be dropping soon!

Fresh Project: Maurice Clark "Addiction: Music, Books & Cigarettes "

I was introduced to the music of Maurice Clark by the homie Mook from 4 StarZ. Mook sent me a song he was featured on called Ghetto Conciousness, which is on the project as well. After hearing the track, I was yearning to hear more tunes from Maurice, and wanted know more about the project. Addiction: Music, Books, & Cigarettes is Maurice Clark's latest drop and is very astounding.

When tuning in to Addiction: Music, Books, &Cigarettes, I get a relaxing sense of bona fide authenticity (what a mixture). After listening to the entire project about 15 times, I have come to the conclusion that I rock with every song because I come up with new combinations of favorite songs each time. This get's daily rotation, no doubt! Maurice Clark is extremely talented artist, and I look forward to hearing more music from him! Check it...
Below is a short documentary where Maurice explains the concept of Addiction: Music, Books, & Cigarettes further...

Fresh Mixtape: Young Slapz "Simply Lemonade 2"

Detroit artist Young Slapz recently dropped a mixtape called Simply Lemonade 2 (With A Lil Bit of Peach Ciroc), which is a sequel to High off Oxygen & Wasted off Simply Lemonade. Within these 22 tracks Slapz spits over beats like Chief Keef's Don't Like, Meek Mills' Burn, Rihanna's Suck My Cockiness, Gym Class Heroes Stereo Heart, and more!

My favorite track on here is definitely Stereo Heart, but I also rock with Simply N Ciroc, I Ont Like It Neitha, H.O.A.N, We Ain't Cool, and New King Flow (Shoutouts to J.Fin). After listening to the whole project, I noticed it is very dynamic in terms of beat selection from beginning to end. I enjoyed the poetry at the beginning, which I didn't count as a song. The mysterious beat at the end tipped my eagerness to hear what the remainder of the project was going to be like.. Take a listen...
Below are visuals to Simply N Ciroc, which is the intro to the tape.. check it

The New York music scene is booming right now, and continues to with G.R.A.M.Z. teaming up with Flatbush Zombies to create Amygdala. The amygdala is apart of the brain, and has many functions including memory, arousal, and controlling emotions. As you can assume, this song is talking about the complexity of controlling emotions brought on from past and current life circumstances. This is the first single from his next mixtape with Rocksmith titled Herringbones Rolexes and Exes. Check it.....

Fresh Music: Casey Veggies "F*CK WITCHU"

After announcing title of his album along with the drop date, Casey went ahead and released a track titled F*CK WITCHU. Though it's 20 degrees and icy out, listening to this track gives me a visual of a California summer. Maybe if I keep it on repeat and go to sleep, when I wake up it'll be summer? If this is any indication of what Life Changes will be like, I can't wait to hear it. Young Veggies is definitely making moves and developing in his craft.. check it.

Fresh Video: J.G. performs "Trill Waves" Live in Detroit

This is compilation of video footage from J.G. performing Trill Waves in Detroit. The events in this video alternate between TAUT (The Air Up There), Pass The Mic, and The Motor Club. The event I was able to attend was the holiday edition of Pass The Mic, where he had a pretty amped performance. When J.G. yelled CHIEFY, the crowd responded by shouting TRIBE, which shows that he had the crowd's attention. Be on the lookout for his next project with T-Deezy titled Paris, Japan..check it!

Fresh Video: The Mixer Recap

This past week BGK Entertainment & Compound Sound Productions presented The Mixer, which was a Detroit-based networking event aiming to promote unity in a starving market. Networking is always important, no matter what path you decide to go down in life. Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend, but hopefully another one comes up sooner or later. With DJ Bleek on the 1's and 2's, I'm sure he had the crowd rocking to some Detroit music. Check it.....
