Fresh Visuals: Leaf feat. Action Bronson "Suga Mama"

Hey Peeps! Today the visuals were dropped to accompany the track Leaf has featuring Action Bronson (awesome combo) titled Suga Mama. I like the concept of this song simply because it seems like girls are always out here looking for a "sugar daddy". Why not just boss up and take care of business so you can provide for yourself and not even have to think about having one. Most of the time guys might not want a sugar mama, simply because it will lower their ego. Then there are the few who wouldn't mind their lady stepping up and cashing out on them. At the end of the day, handle your business. Watch as Leaf takes her boy on a shopping spree and shows him what it's like to have a sugar mama. There's also a little twist at the end (:  The hoop earrings, vampy red lipstick, red bandana bikini top, dark high-waisted denim, and timberland inspired heels was my favorite from all of her looks. Not sure if this will be on her next project, but it's still an ill record. I support the whole MBM movement!

Fresh Music: Pro Era (Dirty Sanchez, Dyemond Lewis, & Nick Caution) "Pro Cake$ 2"

Last year Pro Era dropped a track called Pro Cake$ in which the members rhymed over MF Doom's Hoe Cakes. This time around, they released Pro Cake$ 2 (which is obviously the sequel to Pro), only this time they are rapping over Drake's Pound Cake/Paris Morton Music 2 (feat. Jay-Z). I've heard a few remixes to this, but I think Dirty Sanchez, Dyemond Lewis, and Nyck Caution did the best job. Who's surprised Dirty Sanchez annihilated his verse? NOBODY. It honestly seems like Dirty never comes light. "My track list heavy metal like blacksmith, Black Sabbath, Black list, like Capone, Frontin' like I don't drop dope quotes".....yeah, so there's that. The one that surprised me was the Supa Slacka (Dyemond Lewis). I guess I'm just used to hearing him be super relaxed on songs, but this time he was really spitting. Nyck Caution concluded the track, and said a few raw things, with my favorite being "mami getting anal, get cho' a$$ f*cked".. HAHA. Check it...

Fresh Visual: Jibreel Price "Soldier's Story" (Prod. Ace Boogie)

The homie Jibreel hasn't stopped releasing visuals from his last project just yet. The last video he released was for "I'm On" (Hate Me Now), and now here we have Soldier's Story. "I'm On" was very raw, so it's cool to see a different look from him. This is actually the second song Jibreel has made that literally has made me cry. The first one was My Inspiration from his S.O.L.D.I.E.R project. I knew this video would hit home, because when I heard it on his project it struck a few chords. A good portion of this video was shot around a river and trees which I think accompanies the beat (s/o to Ace Boogie), and overall ambiance of the track very well. The trees are definitely my favorite landscape, because it reminded me of how much he has grown as an artist throughout the past few years. I feel like the quick transition within the line "It's family over everything, that's how I was brought up, seems as if my baby sister just turned into my daughter" was the turning point in the video and seemed to move me the most. Something soon has to come from all of the hard work he's been putting in. Favorite video from him, hands down.
RTS did an awesome job with the directing.

Fresh Visual: Jibreel Price "I'm On (Hate Me Now)"

Jibreel Price (formerly known as Dice) from the 4 Starz collective dropped a visual to Im On (Hate Me Now). If you are unfamiliar with the song, it's actually off of his most recent EP The Jibreel Price Project which dropped back in May. From the looks of it, Jibreel is taking over the city and he's speaking every part of it into existence. The video has a dark wrath to it but I think it matches the track excellently. You can see the rest of the members such as Jared, Tell, Ace and a few more in the background looking like they're completely about that life haha. The 4 Startz currently have the torch, and it's time for them to illuminate and conquer shit! MBMHD did a great job with directing this video as well...

Fresh Music: That FADED Kid x Nolan The Ninja "50-50 Grind"

That FADED Kid of The Burbz and Nolan The Ninja of VVE dropped a track called 50-50 Grind earlier in the month (sorry for posting late, oops). Seems like That FADED Kid changed his flow/voice up a little bit? Since he's a newer artists I think he's just trying to find himself a little as far as the voice goes, but I actually like where he's at with it now. The Ninja spit a gritty verse, which made me feel like he has true passion about his grind. My favorite part was when he said "My generation call it boring, but they will be cheering when I'm anointed". With That FADED Kid's verse being a bit more laid back/raspy and Nolan's being rough/hard knock, I would say the track balances itself out nicely. Enjoy listening to their day to day grind.. Check it! Also, shoutout to the person who did the artwork, I like how they incorporated the skateboard into it.

Fresh Music: Sigidy "Lawn Chair" (Prod. DaRaun)

It seems like Sigidy has been laying low, but now he is back with a record titled Lawn Chair which is produced by DaRaun. If he writes these types of rhymes while on a lawn chair, I wonder what else he has up his sleeve. Listening to this will get your head bobbing and in a super chill mood. Be ready for the release of Sole Calibur to drop from the homie sooner or later! Take a few minutes to step into the mind of Sigidy...

Fresh Video: Shaun Carlo "Moscato Bay"

Shaun Carlo of Detroit conglomerate "BGK" dropped new visuals to Moscato Bay, which is from his most recent project Freedom Town. With the stresses that living life can sometimes bring we tend to hear ourselves repeat the phrase "I need a vacation", which is entirely true the majority of the time. The next question to answer would then be "where?"..... right? Well, Shaun's choice would be a little place called Moscato Bay. It seems like the perfect place to kickback, drink, have a good time, and forget about all of your worries. They shot this video on the perfect evening, because the pink and purple sunset created an amazing aura. Check it....

Fresh Music: Nas "One Love" (Nolan The Ninja Remix)

Nolan dropping ill sh*t is nothing new. For his latest release he gave us a remix to Nas' classic record "One Love" which also coincide with the legend's 40th birthday. Instead of doing the entire 3 versus he went ahead on did only the first two. Would it be accurate to say this actually sounds better than the original version? I like the uptempo feeling I get from it because it completely changes the vibe as well as the crystal clear sound. Check it...
Here are the visuals to the original version

Fresh Music: J.Fin x Jibreel Price "Ion Wonder Why" (Prod: Ace Boogie)

J. Fin and Jibreel Price (formerly known as Dice) linked up for the drop of "Ion Wonder Why" produced by Ace Boogie. Fin starts the track off mentioning a funny little fact he just found out, then finally begins his verse. It seems like the two had a light-bulb moment where they realize why people hate on them in particular. Listening to this reminds me of the saying "people want to see you doing good, but never better than them". Be careful who you decided to surround yourself with, because it's too common that people pray on your downfall. Essentially you should realize we all have the same 24 hours in our days, work harder. Don't forget #AllFleiEverything is on September 21st at the Flei Yung Showroom. Check the twitter for more updates and reminders on the event.

Fresh Project - Asante "Trifecta: SanteJazz Remix Series"

The last time we heard from Asante was quite some time ago when he remixed Frank Ocean's "Thinkin Bout You". Now he's back with an entire project's worth of remixes to songs like Justin Timberlake's "Suit and Tie", Tyler The Creator's "IFHY" (instead naming his version "IFLY"), and OutKast's "Prototype". Needless to say he did all of these songs complete justice. Starting with the beginning track I feel like I've just stepped foot onto a new planet ready to explore new found joy. While on the planet I've experienced love at first site, and can't stand to leave him.. *wishing this was real life*. The transitions from one track to another are very smooth and the order is logical as well. By the time I get to the end of the series I feel like I'm involuntarily saying my last goodbyes to the love of my life and whatever planet I was on and taking a long journey back to reality *sigh*.  Asante's voice is BEAUTIFUL, and just makes me wish I had someone to sing such sweet nectar's in my ear, but I digress hahaha. Last, but certainly not least, shoutout to whoever did the artwork. The planet I stepped on was indeed the one right on the cover. Full of every musical instrument you could think of, such a lovely place... take a visit.

Fresh Video: Gueringer The 13th "A Thousand Prayers"

I'm backkkkkkkkkkkkk. What a relief you guys have no idea lol. Living in Paris was such a great experience, but the wifi in our apartment was so iffy which is the reason I couldn't post while over there. But, it's summertime and things are back up and running, wooohooo! Now, onto the post....

What better way to start posts back up than with a new video from the homie Gueringer The 13th. His latest project Paris, Japan dropped a few months ago, and this is a track off of it called A Thousand Prayers. I'm happy he accompanied this song with a little bit more because this was one of my favorite joints off of the project. I actually wouldn't downplay this visual and call it a music video, but would refer to it as a short film. You'll understand what I'm saying when you watch the entire thing through. I'm hoping the next visual he puts out will have a connection with this one.

LIFE OVERSEAS: Paris, France (Week 1)

This week seems like it's been moving like quicksand. I literally thought I had seen the entire city of Paris over the last few days, but I had barely scratched the surface...........
We visited one of the many museums, and I learned that Birdman got his iconic "hand rub" from the Parisians.

Walking around we found that there was a massive thrift store over by the Marais. There was a first floor and a ground floor. I was so excited, I think a tear may have came down my face.

Found a little treasure around the corner from where I live. This bakery has the best sandwiches and sweets, so I can never go wrong.

Visiting the Louvre was a really cool experience. I saw so many historical paintings buy artists such as Vincent van Gogh and Davinci. All of this information thrown at us was overwhelming to take in, so I will definitely have to make a trip back there sooner or later.

A button on my blazer popped off before we were going out, but luckily I have friends that are design students. Kat to the rescue...

At the top of Montmartre, this lady was getting jiggy on the 1's and 2's haha! The free show was amazing, but it soon started raining, so hit was time to go.

A morning walk to the open air market by the Lexembourg Gardens was relaxing. Fresh fruit, vegetables, and everything else you can think of.... and cheese.

I've found my favorite scarf you guys! Papa Marley, rest in power lol.
---------------------
Most of the places I've visited in France won't let me take pictures of the inside such as the haute couture museums and certain exhibits. Things in Paris are so exclusive, and that's bittersweet. Hopefully this upcoming week I will have more pictures for you guys!

LIFE OVERSEAS: Arrival in Paris, France

I did better than I expected on the plane ride to Paris. I don't remember what it felt like to be on a plane, because I the last time I boarded one was when I was super young. On the drive to the airport I was intimidated by the planes taking off and honestly contemplated on turning around, but that wasn't an option lol. Needless to say, I got on the plane, and was soon off to Paris, France.

I arrived at my apartment and it was pretty ill with a great view.

Went for a drink, and saw a flyer.
Apparently they say "turn up" here lol..

The next day we woke up only to have a full schedule ahead of us. We went around the city on a bus ride, and pretty much went through all of the districts of Paris including the flee market and the Pierre Cardin Museum, which was inspiring.

Walking.... oh, hey Eiffel!

Living here for this time period is going to be nothing short of amazing....

Fresh Video: Ro Spit feat. Front Paije "Fresh Boy"

Spit dropped a new video to accompany his new song Fresh Boy. Throughout the video, you'll understand why he is indeed pretty fresh. You find a lot of people talking about how fresh they are, but usually they are just that... all talk. Ro on the other hand, doesn't only talk about it, but he is about it. Being the co-owner of two boutiques, there is no reason you shouldn't stay stay pretty fly. Check it...
Also check out his new "Spit" new era caps, available now at Burn Rubber Detroit

The FADED Penguin "Luxury Art" Snakeskin Strapbacks

The FADED Penguin is dropping a new set of strap backs. The hats come in two different colorways (black and blue) and have some similarities such as the "Luxury Art" wording plastered on from and the Artie (the mascot) embroidered on the left side. The difference is that the black strapback has a snakeskin brim and strap, whereas the blue hat has a green underbrim and the only snakeskin portion is on the strap.
The caps will be released on May 17 (this Friday) at noon on http://www.fadedpenguin.bigcartel.com and will go pretty quick.

Fresh Project: Gueringer the 13th "Paris Japan" (Prod: TDeezy)

Paris, Japan from Gueringer the 13th (formerly known as J.G.) came out a while ago, and I'm just now posting it. Sorry... I'm not sorry. Any who, on to the post..........
PARIS JAPAN IS HEREEEE lol.
Some may think of the name change as random, but it definitely came at the right time. At a point of growth and change, it was all synchro. On FG Radio, he explains exactly why and how the name change came about, and the real meaning of it.
I had a great opportunity to attend his release party at the Flei Yung showroom, and I was very impressed. I wasn't expecting him to come with anything like this, so it kind of hit me from left field. the entire thing was produced by the gawd TDeezy, and that's one reason I think it turned out great. He embodied a great feeling of what it may feel like to live in Paris, Japan if there was a such place...much love.
My favorite song is A Thousand Prayers, but others that caught my attention were Paris Flow, and This is it. I also have to admit the 1:48-2:20 when Gueringer and the homie Nolan were talking mad sh*t I got OD hyped up because it reminded me of Tupac on Hit Em' Up. Overall, Gueringer the 13th did a great job with this project.
Let's take a trip to Paris, Japan....

Juicy J is on his way to Pontiac, Michigan soon to continue his Stay Trippy Tour. Among other special guests, I was super excited to see Pontiac's own Gueringer the 13th's name on it. Fresh Music: Dessy Hinds "P. Enlightenment"

On Pro Era's latest project, Peep: The aPROcalypse, Dessy was on Vinyls and Natural, but since then we haven't heard anything from him until now. I wish I could pick out a dope line from this joint, but it seems that Pro Era's "Ill Minded Child" (Ill MC) Dessy Hinds has made it hard for me to do so, because everything stated in P.Enlightenment stuck out to me... line after line. Every word seemed intricately and consciously placed, which made the song flow really well. I think it's safe to say this is my favorite song released from Dessy. P.Enlightenment is a smooth track with a wide range of vocabulary, so you'll need to listen through it a few times to catch what's actually being said, and possibly look up a few words while doing so lol. It seems like he really took his time with this one, and everyone should hear what he's saying.. be enlightened. Check it!!!
This is a video released from Dessy back in 2012 titled "The Job" (Prod: Hans Solo)

SPIT Detroit Web Series: Episodes 2 & 3

This post is going to have both episode 2 and 3 of Spit Detroit included in it, so i'll try to make it short and sweet......

Episode 2 includes Gino The Ghost, Presidentae, and B. Lewie. First off, I want to say this was a fun cypher to listen to, because they really were coming right off the top of the dome. Beats the trio rhymed over were D.O.A, Unorthodox (LOVE!!!!), and S.T.U. My favorite line was from Presidentae"....time equals money, you can figure that, seeing me throwing cash on the floor.. look like I littered that".........."up in the hotel, and giving that i'm gone nail, they called security once, now she promising she won't yell". Check it...

In episode 3 we have Midwest Rico, Casada Jones, and D. Rose. First rapping over Symphony 2000, then XXplosive, and lastly Rigamortus. On this Episode, a line that stuck out to me was from D. Rose when wrapping up the Rigamortus beat - "y'all blind, but they ain't foolin' me, a hard knock life, wasn't schoolin' me, the government gone have to put a tool to me, because I'm from the D.. we break rules to eat!". Much love to DJ Bleek and Row.....SPIT!!!!!

Fresh Music: Nolan The Ninja "Total Wreck"

YUPPPPPPPPP, Nolan is back at it with yet another track, and this go round he decided to rhyme over Bahamadia's Total Wreck. Total Wreck is a 90's track, so I can't say I'm surprised Nolan would choose this beat as his lyrical playground. One of the things he said that stuck out to me was "mental therapy for the noggin, session of mind clearing, escaping from all the problems". Everyone has their own way of breaking away from reality. Personally, my way is meditation, but for Nolan it's probably hitting the studio. All of these dope tracks being released by The Ninja makes me want an EP.... *cough cough*
Here is the original version of Total Wreck from Bahamadia
